This month, I’m exploring the field of Professional Organizers, to help answer your most common questions! Today, I’ll answer the question, “What’s the secret to success when working with a PO?”
From a business owner who specializes in simplicity – I’m gonna make this simple.
My opinion is that the most important ingredients to success with your professional organizer is TRUST and CHEMISTRY….Seriously.
Hire someone you LIKE and TRUST or get a referral from someone you know, like and trust.
Interview your potential business partner. Make sure that person offers what you need and you feel confident with their ability to see you through to meet your goals.
A Professional Organizer will walk with you into your most vulnerable spaces and light the way for you. What they do is serious and deep. When you enter the game – remember that it’s a process and a means to an end. You need to trust the process to be successful. You’ll want a professional partner committed to your success, not a shaming, demanding control freak. If you’re getting that vibe from a potential PO, take heed. Think about hiring a PO as you would an attorney, a coach, a personal trainer, a mentor, or a therapist.
It’s never, ever, ever just about the stuff…
